Dual fuel hybrid systems combine the high SEER2 electric cooling and mild-weather heating of a heat pump with the extreme cold heating power of a 80% or 96% AFUE gas furnace.
During spring and autumn, the electric heat pump provides efficient heat. When outdoor temperatures drop below freezing, the system automatically switches to gas furnace operation for maximum warmth.
